23. I agree, but Weiner did make it worse for himself
I agree that the scandal was way overblown and Weiner should have stayed in office. Politicians have done much worse and gotten away with it (like Vitter who actually broke the law, and tons of other politicians caught basically putting tax payer money in their own pockets of their crony's pockets). This scandal reminds me of that republican who quit like a month into the job after sending shirtless photos to a woman, I thought he overreacted by quitting to, especially so soon.

Still, the moment that Weiner started 'sort of' admitting to it (I forget exactly what he said, something along the lines of "that's not me in those pictures but if it were") he doomed himself and just let the media start stomping all over him.

In my opinion Weiner would have had much better luck covering up the scandal if he had viciously attacked all the media people who were covering it for covering it (and labeling it as a fact to) solely based on the word of Andrew Breitbart, a guy who's slanderous lies the media has been dumb enough to fall for 3 or 4 times in a row, while in the process soiling the good names of innocent people who Andrew Breitbart hated for their political beliefs & positions of power.

Once the scandal was confirmed Weiner probably should have announced that he wouldn't run for reelection but would serve out his term.
