Things could be worse and let's blame everything on Bush.

I don't think that either is going to work in November. The economy is still in very shaky ground, unemployment figures (just released yesterday) are depressing. Real people are suffering, they are worried and even scared about their future. They don't want to hear how things could be worse, they want to hear what the WH and Congress are going to do to remedy the situation.

It may be unfair, but the Democrats are running the entire show (not really since the Republicans can still block legislation), but in the public's perception the Democrats are more to blame because they are the ones in charge.

I don't know if any amount of explaining how much worse we would be if the Republicans were in charge is going to make much of a difference. People seem to be in a "throw the bums out" mood.


Edited to add this thread. One of the most depressing ones I've read in a while.
