8. The party affiliation serves to point out what we all believe in.
It's not an order to vote with the party in lock-step every single time.

If we can't persuade people to vote for the bills we support, then maybe there's something wrong with the bill. Or maybe there's something wrong with the people who won't support it.

I don't believe in blackmail, and this is just what the Republicans are doing. If we did that, then we are no better than they.
