5. It's Expected! What Confuses me is that Coakley and others are Surprised.

I mean Obama and the other democrats were voted into office in mass #s by a country who desperately wanted change, even the republican base felt enough was enough and either didnt show up or voted democratic for the first time. And now the current administration and Congress have sold their souls and sold their voters short. So i find it surprising that Coakley and others are scrambling in surprise that independents and their democratic base are not motivated or even angry with them. Seeing these new #s doesnt surprise me and although i hope Coakley eeks out a win i wont be shedding a tear if she loses.

60 democratic senators accomplished nothing, losing 1 more makes no difference. If the party is not willing to fight for the people then it is no better than being republican. As i see it the democratic party is more like republican-lite. Howard Dean being probably one of the few real democrats.

The upside to her losing is maybe Obama et al will actually do what the people want instead of adopting populist speech only during important elections.
The downside is they might get their wires crossed and think that the country wants a more right-wing view and become less interested in what the people want.
