99. Thanks, Skinner
I hope Cindy gets a chance to read this and perhaps reconsiders her decision. If she still decides to bow out, I totally respect her choice and understand it. Some time with her surviving children would probably be a good thing for both her and them.

As an aside, a very ironic thing happened to me yesterday. I've been reading "Imperial Life in the Emerald City" since January and swore I was going to finish it yesterday. After reading about everything going on with Cindy both here and at DKos, I sat down to finish it. I read about a battle in Sadr City against the Mahdi Army back in 2004 and then came to a paragraph that talked about the loss of 8 of our soldiers, including Casey Sheehan. It really caught me off guard and brought tears to my eyes. How ironic, I thought, that after all this time I've been trying to finish this book, and of all days to read that paragraph it would be the day that Cindy decided to resign.

Whatever Cindy decides to do, she has done so much good up to now and has made a huge difference.
