4. We shouldn't have relied on WH for messaging... weak DNC hampered us.
Under Dean, we had a strong national message in 2006. WH messaging was not going to play in places like Texas and Florida and Arizona. We needed a strong, local Democratic presence on the ground in those areas. Dean provided those areas with Dem resources, staffing (that was knowledgeable and had local roots) and funding. Not to mention he had party officials on the ground recruiting candidates and helping to build name recognition. We also had wealthy liberals willing to pony up to help the cause. Now Soros and others have decided to hold on to their $$$$ for now.

Sucks. We've got two years to fix this #hit in time for 2012.

I see no other solution but for the Prez to issue a mea culpa and beg for Howard Dean to come back to the DNC and fix this mess.
