No one should cast a vote by deciding what vote would be appropriate in a different electoral system. Work for a different system if you want, but in the meantime, recognize that we have plurality elections.

Under the current system, mainstream Democratic politicians have absolutely no incentive to pay attention to the concerns of Green Party voters. The Greens simply don't support Dems, even when a good Dem is running against an abhorrent Republican. Given that, why should a politician try to appeal to them? Having them detest the Dem somewhat less,as they cast their ballot for the Green Party candidate, does the Dem no good at all under our current system.
