sorry to see a "law and order" type jumping in to disrupt your thread. I don't usually recognize the less-than-liberal people from GD I occasionally allow myself to get stuck arguing with, but I was so "impressed" with the lack of empathy and the view that all crimes are the same (despite claims re: marijuana - clearly showing the hypocrisy right now, even) in a long thread about local law enforcement accessing food stamp applications to find suspects (not convicts or other "scofflaws) with federal warrants out on them. Of course the poster was totally in favor of ANY method to CATCH and PUNISH CRIMINAL with no regard to anybody else's civil rights, much less those of the accused criminal.

Anyway, it sounds like the buyer won't be doing much and you can continue the natural connection to the land that you had previously. It is actually somewhat comforting to me in a very sick, victim/captor sort of way that they settled for a small parcel and not the whole thing. The loss of a few toes while a violation of the whole body, is still survivable. One can heal and go on from that. You have gone through hell and come out refined rather than beaten so you WIN. Write the book.
