There Is More Outrage About Gibbs' Comment Than Mitch McConnell Calling Children A Special Interest

This is what I find amazing. Gibbs said that he "hear these people saying he's like George Bush. Those people ought to be drug tested." Mitch McConnell called the bill designed to save 300,000 teacher jobs a "special interest" measure.

Yet, on this board, the outrage is regarding Gibbs' off the cuff comment, rather than McConnell's attack on a piece of legislation that affects you and me.

Now, there are some who will defend McConnell on the ground that he is a Republican, so it is okay for him to say that. But why? Why do Republicans get a free pass for being racist, stupid, bigots, adulterers or corporate whores?

It just appears to me that many people are very invested in bringing down Democrats, and although they say they are on the left, I am not so sure. Would the real left give Republicans a free pass again and again?
