I don't see it as "far left" vs. "center left"
It's more or less those who approve of the job President Obama is doing vs. those who don't. I don't subscribe to the notion that that those who disapprove are de facto further left than those who approve.
Obama still enjoys 85% or so approval among Liberal Democrats.
You know what I think it really boils down to? Some people just need to be angry, and with the Republicans no longer in power who's left?
