It's something that can now be done with digital technology. They don't need the little boxes anymore, or anybody actually writing down the shows they watch in some log book.

And what this means is that all those TV's you see.... in your doctor's office, at the Jiffy Lube, or McDonalds, in the airport terminals or whatever that are all tuned to FAUX, are counted as "viewers" by Nielsen. Regardless of whether or not anybody is actually watching.

Not coincidentally, the technology that Nielsen uses to extract this information from the digital televisions is owned by....
