Kerry Healey lost the governorship to Deval Patrick in Mass a few years ago. Or, IMO, one of the reasons...

She thought that Seniors didn't deserve to be able to live in homes they had been living in for 20, 30, 40 years, some of them where they brought up families. She thought that these homes would be better suited for actual FAMILIES, so she thought Seniors should sell (or maybe give up?) their homes and move into smaller places.

OK, some people might choose to do that on their own.

But...to be TOLD that this is what they "should" do?

ummmmm....NO.

Mass, as everyone knows, is no stranger to having (reasonable) Republicans in various offices, so Ms Healey stood a pretty good chance of winning. Until she pissed off the Seniors.

These guys don't know who they're messing with.
