26. So I Guess The Status Quo Is Just Fine...
The "corpos" aren't going away...and in many cases we need them. I know that heresy, but the truth. Do you think a single payer system run by a bunch of beaurucrats will be much different than the system we have now? Just paying different gatekeepers that's all. It's competition that keeps the corporates honest...and this is where the focus has to be. It's why I've always been a strong advocate of public option to create greater competition...then follow it up with serious enforcement of existing laws.

Now then there's the qusetion of "productive" defecit spending. I think saving lives and helping those with little or no health care is very productive.

Bottom line is considering how poluted our political environment is right now, there's not going to be a "perfect" bill...and those who think there will be, I'm waiting as to how you're going to get the 219 votes in the house and 51 in the Senate. These aren't talking points, this is fact. Now you can work to replace every member or be willing to wait for years and decades, cause if this bill fails, the blood will be on everyone's hands...we had a chance to do something and didn't.
