Actually even Edwards was not the left most of the original candidates - Dennis Kucinich was. That's why I was an Edwards backer because Obama clearly trying to dodge questions and go on the record - he was for nebulous "change" not for particular policies and when ever you could "nail the jelly to the wall" he'd come out as a slightly less DLC version of Hillary.

I picked Edwards over Kucinich because Kucinich didn't even have an outside chance although his views were the most in line with my own.

On the other hand Edwards never got traction and would have blown up on us in the general when his personal scandals (unknown to me) blew up on him.

In the end our choices were DLC and DLC lite (Hillary and Obama) so we didn't really have a lot of choice in our primary which is why we NEED a SINGLE nationwide day where we all get to choose and a guy like Kucinich would have a chance instead of it coming down to the money people like Hillary and Obama.
