9. it all depends
I'd rather drop dead from a heart attack then be at the edge of a nuke firestorm, or linger a while with radiation sickness.

BUT, I'd also rather be at ground zero of a nuke then die a slow, miserable death from some disease or other. In fact, after PBS did a program several decades ago on the effects if a nuke hit Boston, along with the evacuation plan (out Rte. 2), my friends and I immediately concluded that in the event a nuke was headed to Beantown, we'd drive *into* the city to be at ground zero, which beat sitting in traffic somewhere in west-central Mass awaiting the firestorm while trying to get to a NH town that officials had never bothered to notify would be the destination of evacuees. Presumably because officials had seen the state roads during rush hour and knew none of us was going anywhere.
