For anyone who thinks that the WH hasn't been paying attention, I give you

"The White House, carefully following Mr. Grassley’s activities, presumed he was no longer interested in negotiating with Democrats after he initially made no effort to debunk misinformation that the legislation could lead to “death panels” empowered to judge who would receive care."

In other news, the House Dems are more determined than ever to keep the public option in - http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/08/18/house-dems-rally-behind-p_n_262555.html

If there's one thing Nancy Pelosi can do, it's whip members. She's pretty much kept her caucus together even with the Blue Dogs barking.

Trouble still may come from the usual suspects in the Senate so keep the pressure on. BTW - Max Baucus has disappeared from the face of the earth after Obama hung health care reform around his neck at the Montana Town Hall on Friday.

Now is when the fun starts...
