DERELICTION OF DUTY. Abandoning one's post. Leaving the residents of the jurisdiction without an official in charge.

Not only did the "governor" himself NOT address the issue of his absconding, NEITHER did the so-called "journalists".

And everybody from The View to here are awash in the gory details of his "love" affair.

As soon as he started his FOOL "news" briefing, I was agog at how CLUELESS he is. He still hasn't addressed the issue.

The dude was in pain. And never has a Rethug spoken so convincingly about feelings and emotions. THAT said, and his personal expression being a big deal for a Rethug: I DON'T CARE!1

The dude is CLUELESS!1

We the members of the national political community didn't tune in to eavesdrop on his COUNSELING PHILOSOPHIZING or his apologies. The press wasn't there for that. The South Carlolinian constitutuents weren't either.

Even the actual "reason" for the mystery wasn't that compelling: Yesterday I guessed it could only be one of two things---either an affair of whatever gender or some greedy Rethug cash deal.

But the dude didn't even address (as did not the so-called "journalists") the REAL ISSUE: How could a public official abandon his public duties without making any provision?!1 And after THAT circumstance, why should he be allowed to continue to occupy the space?!1

His "DEEP THOUGHTS" about "the bubble" and his pain and his apologies and his "dear dear friends" of all varieties every other CRAP thing are NONE OF OUR BUSINESS!1

Military personnel (otherwise known as public servants) are SHOT for this:

What the Army calls "Guard (-duty)" and the Navy calls "Watch (-duty)" is a MAJOR big deal. You canNOT "abandon your post." You canNOT sleep while on duty or otherwise be INattentive.

For the media full of chickenhawks to dismiss what he did as a "vacation" or a "stress day" or whatever INNOCUOUS thing is B.S.

He could have gone, but he needed to pass the duty to the LT Gov. (NOT, incidentally, to just any or some STAFF member.)
