1. I don't quite understand this statement:
(bolding is by me)
"I ordered everyone to make their weapons ready and ordered the boarding party to return to the boats."

"By the time all were back on board, two Iranian boats had come alongside."

Are they referring to the Iranians boarding the English boat? Or had they made land before being intercepted? If so, what/whose land? Had they boarded someone else, & if so - who? If they were in international waters, what is he referring to here?

I'm not as informed on the circumstances of the detention as I should be so I'm confused by the statement.

As to rest of the article, it doesn't sound as though it was as 'brutal' as I have heard people say they expected it to have been. I'm sure that the sailors were terrified because of the anticipation of the unknown - but isolation, sleeping on pallets (hell, I do that here!), interrogation (minus any signs of electrodes, etc) & opportunistic propaganda @ the female member is kinda to be expected isn't it?

snip again/
THE British Navy hostages captured by Iran were blindfolded and threatened with jail, they revealed at a press conference today.

They also said they were held in isolation and that Faye Turney the only woman was immediately separated and told the rest of the group had returned to Britain.

I'm glad that they were released w/out it mushrooming into a larger event & w/out evident harm. I'm sure that their families were terrified, & they have them home to hold close now.

As far as big mouth, right wing critics?

Fuck 'em.
