I utterly condemn this outrageous attack on these Roma families. I am appalled at this situation. "

More than 100 Romanian Gypsies sought shelter at a Belfast community center Wednesday after thugs armed with bricks and bottles drove them from their homes in a wave of racist attacks, city officials said.

From a Romanian source:

Northern Irish press says the young neo-Nazi Irish group threatened to cut the throat of a new born baby girl belonging to the Romanian Gypsy minority, who fled their homes in the face of the late attacks.

Silviu Coacu, one of the Romanians, declared that he had come to Belfast about 8 months ago, together with his wife, kids and brother "for a better life, but now we cannot return to that place. The last days, a young neo-Nazi told us, in a hand gesture, that he would cut our youngest child throat. They said they want to kill us".

The 115 Romanian, mostly Gypsies, who spent their night in a church, were taken to a leisure centre. The Police, local council and Romanian representatives are meeting today to discuss ways to solve the issue.

I don't know where you get "the Roma people do not (make a viable attempt to integrate into the socio-economics of Northern Ireland)". Rather a broadbrush statement, isn't it?
