30. Civil rights for all is a "luxury"?
First of all, it's not like this society and government can't focus on multiple issues at once. Secondly, if you're worried about the economy, gee, think of all the money that gay marriage and divorce will bring in. Why should we in the straight world pay to have serial relationships that have a 50/50 chance of fucking up, and we get to pay for getting out of them?

African Americans didn't put aside their push for civil rights though there was a depression on, a war on, whatever. Neither should our LGBT brothers and sisters. This country can multitask.
