68. There's also such a sense of isolation....
the internet can connect in wonderful, amazing ways, but we often don't know we have a neighbor, right next door, in dire need. Let alone his/her name.

This is my focus now. There are so many people like myself -- single mom, self-employed (, don't belong to church or other type of support organization.

For the last six months a dear friend and I have been trying to get a site ready to launch, with rather technical search features (like craigslist), but all with the intention of connecting people to help one another, be it for critical needs and/or lifelong dreams.

We say we are the givers and receivers, and it's where we can all be the missing piece.

I'm thinking of making the forum available ASAP since there are such needs. It could coalesce there and I could even set up a DU group.

Anyway, you can visit to get a feel for what we're doing.

I invite anyone to PM me with email for me to send invitation to forum. Or, if I get a lot of requests, I'll go ahead and make it public to view, no invitation.

The incredible need just hit like an avalanche this weekend and it may be best to simply release the forum and make public, and we can all work on this thing together.

The list aspect of the site, the main site, will take another week or two.

Grassroots. Person to person. We can all do this. One step at a time.

(But, darn, this human thing is so hard at times, isn't it? The suffering is overwhelming and threatens to paralyze.)
