They are about to learn a lesson that Hillary, and now Obama, are learning. There is no way to appeal to the Right Wing. If you try and act more centrist, they will correctly interpret that as weakness, and continue to attack and attack until you are either crippled or dead. If you think they like you, no, because given a choice between a center-right and a Full Blown right winger, they will take the right winger. When Obama and Hillary try to pplay like "we are not those scary liberals you are afraid of" they isolate the liberals, and leave themselves open for the right to mow down. Even if they get some people who like them, the right will summon forth a cheap copy, easily controlled. "You like the Daily show, try the FoxNews ripoff? You like Hillary, try Sarah Palin? Cheap clones who are safely under control of the Military/industrial/Church complex!", and I will bet they run Condi Rice in 2012 to get ALL the angles
