3. When you travel through the west....
you don't have a choice of gas stations-they can be few and far between. You make sure you can get to the next town on certain portions of trips through the desert. I was on a long section of the road between NM and AZ. My tank was on the low side so I thought I would fill up. The gas was $3 dollars more than the normal amount. I figured I had enough to get to Flagstaff, and I made it. I found a better price there, but you can be screwed when you travel though the desert. Always keep a full tank of gas and a couple of jugs of water and a blanket handy when you travel out in the desert.

Now I bet you think I'm full of shit....I can understand water, but why do I need a blanket in the desert. It gets cold at night and you can died of cold at night just as fast as from the heat during the day in the desert. And don't stray too far off the beaten path if you don't know the way.
