10. Spread in San Diego uses locally grown foods
And it's amazing. I can't even reproduce the food that I had there when I was still in Cali, because I just can't find ingredients that fresh.

Their menu changes nightly, based on what they found at the farmer's market that day, and they grow their own herbs in their backyards and alleyways. I think it was in Hillcrest, but it could have been North Park. The basil lime sangria was to die for.

I go to the farmer's market here in Colorado, and they do have nice things, but they're not cheap. They also don't always have a good selection of different foods. It seems like everyone has only lettuce, or only beets, or only squash. There's only so many times in a week that I can eat bok choy. I love biking to the market and coming home with a basket full of goodies, though.
