44. My mom brought this up today!!
"To my fellow new citizens, we believe in free speech in America" at which time Desiree is being hauled off for exhibiting free speech. Which I caught on camera.

She saw the clip, and talked about the disconnect: how does he talk about free speech with a straight face? Where is the talking heads exploding and people commenting on how, not just disliked, but hated he is? My parents get their news from cable, and it's seriously all over--this is one unpopular president, and he just really has no clue what he's talking about (okay, I knew that back in the early "free speech zone" days of like, 2002, but I think it's mainstream now.)

Bush is wrong. Cheney is wrong. The war in Iraq has been very wrong. And people really do need to say something, and what is more--

Deserve to have their say. Finally, I think people are more prone now to get that the right to criticize the POTUS outweighs any respect due him now that he's botched things so badly--and that it's for the good of the country he gets to see protests, even if his background woefully left him unprepared to put it all in context.

Good show, for representing there, and thanks, for reporting back.
