13. How does this theory hit you:
They might be having trouble with the obstruction charge because the prosecution has admitted to being unable to prove the crime for which the alleged obstruction was committed.

In other words, maybe the jurors were able to apply the (reasonable doubt) standard to the charges of false statements and perjury, but are getting hung up on the obstruction.

If so, that would seem to be a good thing, particularly since they've been at this a while and perhaps came to agreement on some of the charges by now.
