for coverage due to preexisting health issues. There was only one company that would cover us, and the only way we can afford the rates is to take a high deductible policy. We are self-employed and it is getting to the point that self-employment will be a thing of the past if something is not done about health insurance.

I remember seeing statistics that showed small businesses were responsible for a good portion of new job creation. That is probably changing because every small business person I know is struggling with health insurance costs.
