9/11 should have been our alarm clock, but the pretzeldunce convinced everybody that if they just went shopping (more drugs, more booze) everything would be okay, and we bought it. Like all addicts, we're in denial.

We'll all be checking into the Betty Ford Center soon. Those $5/gallon gas prices are coming, as is a global financial crisis we haven't seen the likes of since 1929. Add to that the increasingly chaotic effects of global warming, and folks the party is over.
