94. Doolittle is not only in trouble with the FBI. His Democratic opponent has raised more money
in one of the reddest districts of California. Charlie Brown almost beat him in the last election and we saw already a bunch of Charlie Brown bumper stickers. I can't wait to but mine on our car :)

Here is more about Charlie:

Here is an article about the fund raising:

WASHINGTON – Rep. John Doolittle's fundraising is trailing all but one of the declared candidates seeking his congressional seat, a further indication that the federal investigation into his relationship with jailed lobbyist Jack Abramoff is chipping away at his support for election to a tenth term in the House next year.

The Roseville Republican said in a report filed with the Federal Election Commission late Monday that he had raised $50,308 in the three-month period ending Sept. 30, bringing total receipts so far this election cycle to just over $296,000.

<snip>

On the Democratic side of the race, former Air Force officer Charlie Brown was way out front with $212,000 in receipts during the third quarter and almost $496,000 for the election cycle.

Brown came within three points of beating Doolittle last November and announced last month that he will run for the seat again. So far he is unopposed in the Democratic primary.
