Why should he? He's served the public all his life and he's enjoying the one he's living now immensely. Private life rewards him well and he's able to do more of what he wants to do like raising awareness for the environment.

Besides, the big money players in the DLC don't care for him too much as they've got their eye on Hillary. Add to the fact that he was robbed back in '00 and subsequently dumped on as a "Loserman" by people from all sides (despite the reality that the Supreme Court broke the law in the process) and the lack of gratitude from the public (including his own state mind you when it voted for Bush) and you can see why he isn't in the race.

If he gets out there to run again he'll be hammered from all sides, especially the people who said he wasn't any different from Bush (yes L.A. Times, Michael Moore, and Ralph "things gotta get worse before they get better" Nader, I'm talking about you for starters). Sorry folks, but he isn't running.
