14. I read it all, thanks. I don't like what I'm reading.
He is using his comments about 9/11, guaranteed to trigger an emotional response, and about Iraq, which many will agree with, to dilute the poison, in my opinion. The poison is that he advocates war.

He says:
The terrorists are at war with us.

I disagree, frankly. I think that there are extremists who have something to gain by demonizing the U.S., and that our arrogance and eagerness to expand our empire plays into their hands. I don't think they are "at war" with us, though. I think we are a tool that they are using. I'm tired of the language, the terms of "war." I'd like to hear terrorism, empire, and international actions referred to through a different lens.

He speaks about "threat," which, to me, is code for "be afraid, and support military action to keep fear at bay."

He says:
When I am President, we will wage the war that has to be won, with a comprehensive strategy with five elements: getting out of Iraq and on to the right battlefield in Afghanistan and Pakistan;

I have no intention of waging war in Afghanistan and Pakistan. I will not vote for someone who does.

He sounds way too much like George W. Bush for my comfort; just replace Iraq with Afghanistan and/or Pakistan, and I, frankly, hear the same message.

I guess Iraq is the "dumb" war, but Obama's wars will be somehow "smart?"

I can't share the rest of my thoughts "aloud" at DU without threat of censorship.
