race gives me the following choices: Black, White, Asian, Indian

Hispanic is a seperate designator : yes/no

hispanic has (technically speaking) nothing to do with race. it has to do with coming from a spanish speaking culture.

in the US, most hispanics are white (but hardly all)

in cuba, there are a LOT of black hispanics, for instance. ditto puerto rico

a person of japanese origin (ethnically speaking) who grows up in cuba is hispanic.

that doesn't mean the CT cops didn't do wrong here, just that hispanic and white are not mutually exclusive. in most cases in the US, they are common
