35. Is this Mormon recruiting "season"?
2 of 'em wandered down my long gravel drive last week. Cute young guys, 19-20, something like that.
My Golden Retriever does a good pit bull imitation at strangers when he is on the line by the house, so he was snarling and barking and lunging.
I walked up to the the guys, knowing who they were, raised my hand palm out and they stopped, Then I warned them that I could not be responsible if the dog chewed thru his rope,
last time he did it in 5 seconds, because he was too protective of me and had bitten the meter reader.
I suggested they might want to very slowly back up, don't turn their backs on the dog, just go up the street to some other house.
All the time the dog is really lunging and growling, snarling, hackles really raised.

The guys got very wide eyed, looked at each other, back tracked, and the last I saw of them they were walking up to the Presbyterian preacher's house next door.
Dog shut up the minute I told him to, as he always does. He is not the least bit ferocious.
