There is a family in my community who has glaring lights and outlandish displays for every holiday. I don't know how they afford the electricity bills or where they store all the stuff between holidays.

During the Christmas season, we often take visiting friends or family on a drive past that house. It is always breathtaking, and not in a good way. All the holiday displays include noise, too. There are Christmas carols, ghoulish Halloween noises, annoying Easter songs, etc., etc. Neighbors have had an ordinance passed that requires certain wattages of holiday displays to be turned down or off after 10 p.m.

The family has gotten the message, and toned things down over the last few years. They are nice people. Decorating every surface is just their hobby.
