U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., predicts the Iraqi government will soon come together and there will be a breakthrough in the fighting there.

Graham just returned from a two-week tour of duty as a JAG officer, and told SCpols.com he is seeing progress in the war-torn country.

"We have turned the corner," he said. "The winners will be the Iraqi people. The losers will be Al-Qaeda and Iran."

...

Graham said he sees success there, and said this is not the time to remove troops. He feels the Iraqi government is on the verge of a "political breakthrough" and that will lead to a safer Iraq.

"The people got a taste of al-Qaeda and they don't like it," he said. "They are ready for peace."
