24. Not only "pure, incandescent rage"
She was angry, and she was angry at him -- and she conveyed, to me at least, a sense that she was calling the shots on this one -- and maybe she has always called the shots. Maybe she's the one who wants him to stay in office, maybe she sees it as a kind of punishment for him????

I'm a short woman, and I am sometimes intimidated and almost frightened when I'm with people who are a lot taller than I. The second thing that struck me watching this was that Wendy was taller than her husband and did not give off the "vibes" of a demure, submissive wife. (The first thing that struck me was that dress. . . . ) I can't speak as an expert on body language, but what I saw was a whining, submissive man doing exactly what his domineering mother-wife had told him to do.

Whether his exploits with prostitutes were some kind of rebellion against that, I don't know, but this is not a man I would trust any further than I could throw him. Wendy Vitter looked like she could throw him pretty far. Tansy Gold couldn't.
