We need Obama to take the pledge, too! So far, no response from his campaign. Democrats running for other offices have pledged. Want to help get more candidates to take the pledge? Go to Standing For Voters, or PM me.

Why is this a big deal? Do you remember Kerry conceding the election in 2004, when millions of votes were still uncounted in Ohio, the state whose 22 electoral votes decided the election? We need to keep that from happening this time.

Contrast Obama to Kerry on this issue: Kerry said he'd wait until all votes are counted. Obama isn't saying anything about the issue. In 2004 it was Green Party candidate David Cobb and Libertarian Party candidate Michael Badnarik who demanded (and raised funds for) a recount in Ohio. The recount turned out to be bogus because of the shenanigans of then-Secretary of State J. Kenneth Blackwell.

The Democratic Party is far better equipped than were the Greens or Libertarians to challenge elections where it's necessary, and we can already tell there's reason not to trust the official election results. We need to get candidates, including Obama, on board now, preparing to challenge elections.

Standing For Voters is a tool to help candidates make a commitment to election integrity, and to give voters an opportunity to call on candidates to do so.

Candidates ask voters to stand for them. Help make sure the candidates hear our demand that they Stand For Voters!
