34. I didn't think we could have gotten that anyway
There weren't enough races in play in 2006. We won most of those that were.
This time, we have a chance at a lot more of them without giving up any of
the ground we gained in 2006. It would still be a miracle if we got a veto-proof
Senate this time, or even a filibuster-proof Senate, but even a 55-45 majority
would be a powerful base for a Democratic President to work with, and that is a
goal that we can call realistic this time. That is one of the reasons I can't
agree with those who say "if it isn't Hillary/Obama (take yer pick), I'm not voting
Democratic this time."

If not this time, then when?
