So now they're pushing for the Webb bill which would require soldiers to have more time off between deployments. That would work better than defunding, as it would decrease the troops whether Bush liked it or not. They need 60 votes to get it on the president's desk and 67 to override his inevitable veto. Right now they think they have 59. Randi said people should start calling their republican senators, not the Dems, if they want to see any results.
