Prince Harry's anger as Army chiefs push for war zone ban

AN angry and embarrassed Prince Harry was last night considering quitting the Army after commanders banned him from serving on the front line in Afghanistan.

He is furious at the prospect of being so publicly humiliated with his reputation as a soldier destroyed before his career has really begun.

Senior officers in the Household Cavalry threw his entire future into jeopardy by suggesting that the third-in-line to the throne could not be risked in such a dangerous combat zone.

The Ministry of Defence and Clarence House immediately tried to play down the controversy by insisting that no decision had been made about deploying the young officer to Afghanistan or anywhere else.
