34. Sad but true
'twill be difficult to convince 17 GOPers to go against the party line. Still:

- Chimpy is an albatross around their necks
- ~16 of them are up for re-election in 2008. They certainly don't want to lose *more* seats.
- Some of them actually listen to their constituents
- Some might actually do their job (Senators are better at this than House members) and in the face of a clear felony like warrantless wire tapping, vote for conviction
- Some have already voted against Chimpy

Then again, it might take a compromise (as another DUer suggested) such as confirming a moderate GOP nominee (McCain, maybe?) and once that nominee takes Chimpy's place, a Dem VP nominee.

Maybe. Who knows...
