The difference is night and day. If Bill Clinton shows up anywhere,
people will stand in line for hours in any weather just to see him,
hear him, or shake his hand. If W shows up, they will stand in line
to throw tomatoes at him, throw eggs at him, or just shout that he is
not welcome in their land.

Clinton still need plenty of security--in order to keep the masses of
admirers from overwhelming him. Bush still needs plenty of security--
in order to protect him from the masses of people who want to trample him
underneath, and spit on the remains.

Be thankful there is still a difference. When the radical right whines
about anti-Americanism, it's all hogwash. They don't adore Bill Clinton
because they're anti-American. They just love the fact that he isn't Bush.
