John Dean should know that the charges are narrowly drawn so it's possible to get a conviction. Libby's defense attorneys have already attempted the greymail crap; everyone else is going to try the same thing.

Nobody knows what's happening in the investigation for the simple reason that if Bush ended it (and gosh, there's a shock,) it's evidently illegal for Patrick Fitzgerald to comment. There's also the added idea that many in the US Attorney's office may be on vacation this month, most of Washington is on vacation this month, and he has a few more things on his plate in Chicago. (Hollinger and Lord Black come to mind.)
