15. I agree with you.
This post should not become another "taking sides" thread. It isn't about that issue, which could be debated without consensus until the dust from "the big one" buried the bones of the dead.

We do need to focus. Nothing will change in this country, nor in the rest of the world, as long as this regime has unfettered control.

"If we do not win, the Israeli/Palestinian conflict will continue to worsen with Repug support, the war in Iraq will continue and be handed to the next guy to deal with, the poor will keep being fucked by the rich, the gap between those groups will continue to grow and the new Congress WILL pass the new bill giving Bush the legal authorization to declare anyone eligible for indefinite detention and torture, you, me your gramma, everyone." This about says it all.

Until we get a representative government back, nothing will change for the better. It will only get worse. This regime does not care about anyone, or anything, unless it supports and promotes their agenda. Absolute power. Absolute control. Dominance. Empire.

Focus on what you can do to change things. Contact the local campaign office, and work your tail off to get your candidate(s) elected. Become active in your regional election or campaign finance reform group. Be the media. Work for change. Stay focused.

I know it's not easy to keep focused. What is going on in the Middle East is horrendous. You'd have to be a boulder, to not have it affect every cell in your body, every beat of your heart, and the most tender parts of your soul. But it is not going to change with this regime in power. It will only get worse.
