-John Bolton was in the National Guard during 'Nam but was not called up (not due to family connections, he was the son of a fireman)

-Rumsfeld was a Naval Reservist, serving until 1989 retiring as a 0-6 Captain.

-Bob Dole was a highly decorated war hero in WW2 earning 2 purple hearts and a bronze star.

-Oliver North, LTCOL Marine Corps silver star, bronze star, 2 purple hearts, vietnam.

-Ben Nighthorse Cambell, US Air Force, Korea, Air Medal (Former Dem)

-Pete Wilson, USMC 1955-58

-Barry Goldwater, USAAC/USAF, Retired as a Major General

-Ronald Regan, US Army 1935-41, Propaganda/Moral films, combat disqualification

-Gerald Ford, US Navy WW2

-Richard Nixon, LCDR US Navy, WW2, Supply Corps, South Pacific

-George HW Bush, Youngest Naval Aviator, 1943-45 Shot Down twice, sunk 4 enemy ships, participated in Wake Island, Bonin Island, and Phillipine Campaigns, 3 Distinguished Flying Crosses, 3 air medals.

-Phil Grahm and Richard Shelby started as Dems

-Nancy Pelosi, Barbra Boxer, Mark Warner, Howard Dean, Bob Graham, Chuck Schumer, Keith Olberman,
Pat Leahy, Dick Durbin, Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, and Joe Biden, did not serve.

-Jed Bartlett did not serve but Mat Santos sure did :)
