would have made the whole thing far, far worse.

Yes, I was angry. However, I wanted him to be locked up so he couldn't do it any more. He was suspected in three other murders in that town, but it was never proven.

Having the state murder the murderers doesn't do anyone any good. Vicarious revenge is base and unworthy. I didn't want that man killed because of who I am, not because of who he was.

I got my wish. He died in prison.
