I misread that as Brooks saying that DEmocrats (us) hate us (Republicans) - as in that this was a direct quote from Brooks. So that was basically what I replied to. After re-reading, I got the right interpretation. :-)

On edit;
I'm sure there are Democrats who secretly don't like the netroots, but there aren't too many of those. Most likely, it would be the DLC contingent, and those Dems who come from red states, and have to be careful how they tread. They may feel put into a corner by us and their consituency, and rightly so, I would say. Straddling the fence does everybody a disservice.

What worries me more - and I absolutely do NOT count Kerry among that group - are the Democrats who play the netroots like useful idiots (as the Repubs did with the Religious Right) and once we've served our purpose, drop us like a hot potato and veer back to the center.
