27. I know. It's hard for me, too.
I live in a town of ~20,000 population and places like Walmart, Home Depot, Taco Bell have run others out of business. KMart is gone, KFC and Wendy's pulled out, which is okay. But we have a limited selection around here. Even locally-owned restaurants and businesses are scarce. I've made an effort to avoid Walmart as much as possible and instead I try to shop at in-state owned businesses like Marsh, Martin's supermarkets and drug stores like Walgreen's. If I can't buy from local retailers for something I want, I at least try in-state owned businesses. Sadly, most of the business is owned by Republicans in this town, too. So it doesn't make much difference.
