In reading this, I think I have chosen "Sappoktek"...Choctaw for "my grandaughter" I am the granddaughter of Beulah Terrell, and seventh generation choctaw by her great grandfather in Amite Mississippi. This is my heritage, and I am embracing it for the next few years of my life. I am filing for official tribe registration, I am choosing to be noble and proud, and make my ancestors feel pride at the actions, Ideals, and choices I make from this moment onward.
I also want to remember that, as seventh generation, my actions and choices will affect MY granddaughters...

Shallah - while I do LOVE the Changing Woman story and plan to work that medicine wheel majic into some of my meditations... it didn't resonate so much as a name, perhaps since it is a different tribe... :) thanks for the reference though!
