1. Lifting Weights is Greatly Underrated
in the general population, especially for groups like women and the elderly who traditionally don't participate.

In addition to raising metabolism, a weight regime adds extra muscle mass that also burns lots of calories. An additional benefit is increased vigor, which tends to incease a person's general activity level. And for the elderly, it can mean the ability to operate normally rather than struggle just to walk and complete simple tasks.

The effect on intrabdominal fat is a bonus.
